5 Things that successful Entrepreneurs do in the morning

It’s pretty obvious that successful entrepreneurs and leaders like to do things their own way. It gives them a sort of competitive advantage and puts them ahead of the fold. Even so, there are certain things that all successful entrepreneurs do in the morning before they get to work. It’s these things that set them apart from the rest and get them set up to succeed. For instance, successful entrepreneurs also tend to meditate daily and they’re just as likely to share their failures as they are their successes. With that said, there are a set number of things that successful entrepreneurs do each morning.

1) They wake up before other people.

There are a number of different individuals who have been successful who wake up earlier than everybody else. They know that they need to get a head start on the day and they do so by waking up early. Along with that, there are no distractions or people to interrupt you when you wake so early in the day. There are plenty of things to do and you don’t have to worry about being interrupted while doing them. Perhaps you could listen to music or engage in some light reading. Whatever it is, you can do it when you get up early to start the day off right. Just do something simple like read a book, eat an orange, or even walk outside to get some fresh air. Whatever you do, get up early so you can start to do it sooner.

2) They exercise.

Studies show that moving your body for as little as 10 minutes results in the release of the neurotransmitter GABA, which soothes the brain and gets you in control of your impulses. This way, you’ll be able to curb those cravings for sweets and get your body back on track. It even makes improvements in your behavior that you can actually measure with an emotional intelligence test. Anyway, entrepreneurs and industry titans get up early so that they can get some exercise in to start their day off right. That way they’re ready and motivated to start their day and have greater emotional intelligence to get the job done. It’s a one-two punch of motivational goodness. Along with the strength to get things done, they’re getting a good exercise in which will keep their body healthy and performing at its peak.

3) They take a shower.

Studies have shown that we get our best ideas when we’re in the shower. Things that trigger a release of dopamine are going to be much more likely to trigger thoughts of creativity. That’s why you might’ve noticed that driving home does the same thing, or exercising, or having a nice, hot shower. The other reason for this is that the shower is a distraction period. It’s something that we have to do that doesn’t require much mental awareness or focus, so instead that focus can be placed squarely on other things that are pressing at the time, such as projects that we’re working on or other pressing matters that we need to attend to. We can begin to start processing creative ideas and imagery in such ways that we dazzle ourselves and others with the amount of information that we’re able to process.

4) They spend time with their families.

If even President Obama could make time to have breakfast with his family every morning, then you can too. Research shows that this is a great time to come together and bond as a family, and that release of dopamine will lead to benefits for all parties involved. There is a slew of benefits associated with breaking the fast with your family, and bonding as a family unit is just one of them. This way, you can be sure to share good news and bad news together as a family. As the old Swedish proverb goes, shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow. The same goes for sharing breakfast with your family. It’s a time for you all to get together and bond as a team before going ahead and getting on with your day. It’s one of the best ways to ensure the family bond is alive, along with sharing dinner as a team too. But since we’re talking about things to do before getting up for the day, we’ll leave it to that.

5) They work on a passion project.

We all have that little project that we’d like to work on if only we had the time. The difference between average folks and entrepreneurs and business leaders is that they make the time to get those passion projects done. They understand that this sort of thing boosts creativity and leads to gains in receptivity to new ideas as well as enhances the projects that they’re already working on. Since time is so limited, entrepreneurs will carve out this time for themselves while they’re fresh and have little distractions in order to reach their full potential. These times of creative freedom and free association are strong tools to enhance creativity in other realms, such as in business or other fields. This way, the mind stays fresh while the body does what it has to do with the day. This is something that could apply to anyone regardless of their so-called level of creativity or mental acuity.
